The explosion of data and digital over the past few years has created major opportunities for commercial organisations to gather insight and information, and utilise the possibilities of digital activity. There is a demand for digital skills, making a career in Digital Industries an investment into the future.

Digital Marketing
Level: 3

Duration: Minimum 18 months

Qualification type: Apprenticeship standard

Entry requirements:

Apprentices will be required to have or achieve Level 2 English and Maths tests prior to completion of their apprenticeship. You will need to be in relevant employment, but we can support you to find this. Relevant experience would be an advantage and a proven passion for digital and social media is essential.

What to expect

A career in digital marketing is perfect if you are a logical and creative thinker who enjoys working as part of a team, engaging with customers and designing, building and implementing marketing campaigns across a variety of online and social media platforms. Completion of this apprenticeship is recognised for entry on to the Register of IT Technicians and would also allow access to join as an Affiliate (Professional) member of the CIM (Chartered Institute of Marketing) and/or Associate membership of BCS. Apprenticeships are all about learning on the job, so you’ll spend most of your time working with your employer and learning as you go. You will also be required to complete some off the job training which may include in house training, research and portfolio building.

Assessment

You will be assessed by your trainer who will visit you in the workplace to assess and observe you at work, reviewing your progress and ensuring you are on target to get your qualification. You will also have access to the remote support of an e-portfolio where your trainer might set you tasks to complete. Towards the end of your apprenticeship you will complete an End-point Assessment. This is the final assessment to ensure that you meet the industry standard for the job you have been training for and can include: tests, a project, employer references and/or an interview.

Progression?

On completion of this programme you can work as an assistant, co-ordinator or executive within the digital industries sector, or continue to complete a level 4 apprenticeship leading to management and leadership opportunities.

Data Analyst
Level: 4

Duration: Minimum 24 months

Entry requirements:

Apprentices will be required to have or to achieve Level 2 English and Maths tests prior to completion of their apprenticeship. You will need to be in relevant employment, but we can support you to find this. You may need a Level 3 Apprenticeship, other relevant qualifications and/or experience to complete this programme.

What to expect

If you are a logical thinker, organised, have great communication skills, are comfortable with technical systems with an interest in collecting and studying data then a career as a data analyst is perfect for you. Completion of this apprenticeship is recognised for entry onto the Register of IT Technicians confirming SFIA Level 3 professional competence. Apprenticeships are all about learning on the job, so you’ll spend most of your time working with your employer and learning as you go. You will also be required to complete some off the job training which may include in house training, research and portfolio building.
