What to expect

A career in customer services is perfect if you like meeting, interacting and working with lots of different people. Customer service is an integral part of any business and the skills you’ll learn on this programme will apply to almost any job role. You will learn skills such as: delivering reliable customer service, resolving customer service problems and developing personal performance. Your core responsibility will be to provide a high-quality service to customers.

Apprenticeships are all about learning on the job, so you’ll spend most of your time working with your employer and learning as you go. You will also be required to complete some off the job training which may include in house training, research and portfolio building.

Assessment

You will be assessed by your trainer who will visit you in the workplace to assess and observe you at work, reviewing your progress and ensuring you are on target to get your qualification. You will also have access to the remote support of an e-portfolio where your trainer might set you tasks to complete. Towards the end of your apprenticeship you will complete an End-point Assessment. This is the final assessment to ensure that you meet the industry standard for the job you have been training for and can include: tests, a project, employer references and/or an interview.

You could progress to an advanced apprenticeship in customer service, or maybe even specialise is a particular business area such as retail, hospitality, management or HR.
